Na’Imah Powell MD, RScP is a leading authority on the topic Spirituality and The Practice of Medicine. A family practitioner with her own private practice, Dr. Na’Imah has dedicated her “free” time to developing theories and processes in which physicians and patients alike can integrate spiritual healing with conventional medical practices.

With a Masters in Family Therapy, Dr. Na’Imah was a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist for ten years. Always feeling as though she were destined to be a physician, Dr. Na’Imah decided to make a drastic career change and attended medical school at the age of 33. In this career move, she began to recognize that there is interconnectedness with the body, mind and soul.

Feeling incomplete using only allopathic (conventional) medical practices, Dr. Na’Imah decided to combine her strong spiritual truths with her vast medical experience. In her ongoing quest to uplift and heighten the consciousness of the medical field, Dr. Na’Imah founded the Agape Well Being Center. As director and co-founder (with renowned minister, Rev. Michael Beckwith) of the Agape Well Being Center, Dr. Na’Imah is faced with the great challenge of abolishing the gap between conventional medicine and the alternative practices of health care. She has already narrowed this gap greatly as creator of the annual East West Health Quest conference, which explains and demonstrates the various modalities of health and well-being.

Dr. Na’Imah has been trained in bio-energy practices and has a unique manner in which she blends this knowledge with the practice of western medicine. Her training and work as psychotherapist, spiritual therapist, etheric healer and, physician has made it possible to be receptive to all legitimate modalities of healing.

A firm believer in an integrative approach to medicine, Dr. Na’Imah understands that an individual’s physical, etheric, emotional and mental aspects of self must be aligned with the spiritual aspect in order for healing to occur. Simply, Dr. Na’Imah’s mission and purpose is to add to the quality of one’s life and overall well-being by emphasizing the importance of healing the body and mind through Spirit.

Holding three degrees, a Doctor of Medicine from University of California Irvine, a Master of Arts in Psychology from California State University Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Na’Imah has blended her training into a unique style of interacting with people from all walks of life.  Dr. Na’Imah has worked the full spectrum of family medicine, including pediatrics to geriatrics.

In addition to being a licensed spiritual practitioner and board certified physician, Dr. Na’Imah is an acclaimed motivational speaker on various topics.   She is currently working on the re-edition of her book Prescriptions for Health and Wholeness.

Although she has lived in Southern California for the past 30 years, Dr. Na’Imah is a native of St. Lucia, West Indies and was raised in New York City. She has three children and three grandchildren. Her hobbies include writing short stories, reading, swimming and fishing.
